Friday Frivolity: Lies We Tell Our Children

Friday Frivolity pinnable image

Little white lies make the world go round, and nowhere is that more obvious than when it comes to the fibs we tell our children. Like the classic:

If you eat your crusts...

And the myth which is only ever a grandparent away from being thoroughly debunked:

When I was your age...

And the well intentioned but rarely realistic:

If you tell me the truth, I won't be angry!

  3. LOL! My parents never told the "tell me, and I won't be angry" lie. They told the truth: "tell me, or it will be worse if I have to find out myself". Thank you for sharing and hosting!

  4. Wow, you nailed it!!
I told some lies to my kids, but I'm really trying not to tell any to my grands. Lying is such a bad habit, and it's sin.

    1. It's hard because so much of childhood is based on white lies - Santa, the easter bunny, the tooth fairy!
