Behind the Scenes Blogging Tag

Behind the Scenes Blogging Tag

I do love blog challenges, so when I came across this one over at A Little Bit of Sunshine Blog I had to give it a go.

#1. Where Do You Blog?

At my desk or, just as likely, with my laptop balanced on the arm of the sofa in the living room while Marianna wreaks havoc around me.

#2. Where Do You Find Inspiration For Your Blog Posts?

Anywhere and everywhere! I tend to just write about whatever takes my fancy then, providing I've been sent anything, I try to do one review post a week. It's supposed to be on Wednesdays, but it very often isn't...

#3. How Long Does It Take You To Write a Blog Post?

It really depends what the post is about. Some posts are the result of hours and hours of research (history posts, for example), while others are done and dusted in about 15 minutes. I'd say an hour is probably a good ball park figure to write, format, create a pinnable image, etc.

#4. Do You Plan Your Blog Posts? How?

Sometimes. If I'm out and about waiting for a meeting or something, I'll plan a post out on the back of an agenda. Other times a post spends a long time in drafts being slowly added to while other posts come and go. Usually, though, I just write them straight up.

#5. What Kind of Camera Do You Use? What Editing Program?

I use my Blackberry Passport. I'd like to get a proper camera one day, but it's not a priority for me. I edit using Picmonkey and Canva.

#6. Do You Use a Notebook To Track Your Ideas?

I have a little paper notebook with lists of post ideas, and I use Google calendars to provisionally schedule post ideas. Not that many end up going live on those scheduled dates!

#7. How Do You Take Your Pictures?

Point and shoot. It's an area I really need to work on. One day.

#8. What's Your Favourite Type of Blog Post to Write?

I love writing guides to whatever my obsession of the week is. They appeal to that part of myself that always wanted to be a teacher. :)

#9. Who Knows About Your Blog?

Everyone. Well, not in the world - but it's not a secret I keep from anyone.

#10. Are You an Organised or a Messy Blogger?

Messy. I try to be organised, I really do, but it usually ends up in a mess of notes written on scraps of paper, and half finished posts clogging up my drafts. Bookmarks for linkys I've forgotten to link up to for yet another week, and endless open tabs for blogging exchange threads I'm slowly completing...

#11. Biggest Blogging Pet Peeve?

Being taken in by clickbait post titles which don't really deliver. Pinterest is so bad for this!

  1. I get taken in by clickbait titles all the time, sometimes though you get a real gem!! This is a lovely tag, I often think that blogging is a bit like a swan - you see the perfection floating on top but not the legs underneath making everything tick #AnythingGoes

  2. You do much better than me on writing posts, I'm embarrassed to say they take me hours, especially in editing and photos.
