Review: Little Passports

Little Passports Review

I was really taken by this idea right from the first review I read, back last year, so I was super pleased to get the chance to review a 3 month subscription worth £36 for Marianna.

About Little Passports

Launched in 2009, Little Passports aim to teach children about geography, travel, and other cultures in a fun and accessible way. The original subscription service, aimed at 6 - 12 year olds, starts you off with a suitcase, map, and passport, then each month children receive information and souvenirs from a different country around the world. In 2012 the USA edition was introduced, concentrating on two new states each month.

Early Explorers

The service for younger children, aged 3 - 5, was introduced in 2014. Instead of a new country, each month children are sent a box introducing a new theme. Current themes include: landmarks, dinosaurs, space, and food.

Our Experience

We received our first box on Saturday morning - Marianna was so excited to get a parcel addressed to her! The first box contains everything you need to get your little traveller started:

Letter from Max, Mia and their dog, Toby, explaining what it's all about.
Huge world map for your wall.
 Stickers.
 20 page activity booklet.
 Luggage Tag.
 Orange Suitcase.

We took the suitcase with us to nanny's, in the hope of taking some nice photos before Marianna got her inquisitive little hands all over it! Bracken the dog wanted to get involved too:

With the suitcase open, we explored the contents. I read the letter to Marianna, and some of the pages from the booklet. We wrote her name on the luggage tag and attached it to the suitcase, and then put the suitcase stickers on. Marianna even managed a couple herself, so she was very proud of herself.

At 18 months, Marianna is obviously younger than the target age group, but she loved the idea of having her own suitcase and spent hours on Saturday afternoon packing various toys in it and then taking them back out. I'm really looking forward to the next box, and seeing how Marianna reacts to it!
