This Week #43

There is a difference between giving up, and knowing when you have had enough.
Life This Week

It's been another week of ups and downs. First the bad news: as expected, Natwest are refusing to refund me the £250+ that was taken from my account, on the basis the card used had my chip and pin. It's well documented that it's easy enough to fool an ATM with a cloned card, so I've written to the ombudsman and action fraud to try and get them to check the CCTV at the ATMs. If it's not me, and it's not anyone who could have had access to the card (i.e. Anthony, who they've accused of stealing from me!), I don't see how they can continue to refuse to refund me. On top of that, Royal Mail have lost a phone (prize win) I sold on ebay, so I'm waiting for their response on whether or not they're going to pay up.

Still, on the plus side, I did get some awesome news this week. I won a 49" TV from a competition on the Bargain Booze website! (I've listed it on ebay.) On Tuesday I attended my first citizenship ceremony - and took some strange look attracting photos for a post on Catch the Bus Week - and then on Wednesday Marianna and I went to Caldicot for the day with my parents. It was a lovely day, the sun shining, and as it was free entrance to the castle for the day we went to look around there too.

This Week, I 'ave Been Mostly...

☆ READING: Lots of blog posts - I'm co-hosting the #KCACOLS linky this week over at A Moment With Franca. :)

☆ WRITING: I did The TMI Blogging Tag. It made me all nostalgic for the days of MySpace!

☆ WATCHING: Funny commercials - they were the host theme for the #FridayFrivolity linky this week.

☆ LISTENING: Carousel - Melanie Martinez. I love all her stuff, to be fair.

☆ WEARING: Nothing special.

☆ EATING: I had the best pulled pork sandwich at The Castle Inn in Caldicot on Wednesday. Seriously, it was so good!

☆ REVIEWING: I have a couple more I'm committed to, but I think that's going to be it for a good long while. I've had some lovely experiences with different PR companies - and brands directly - but even a one off scenario like this week's is more stress than I'm willing to deal with for something which is supposed to be a fun hobby.

On the Blog

I posted my Editorial Calendar Ideas for July, though it's still far from comprehensive, and entered the Walls and Floors tile voucher competition. The other main blog thing is that I finally got around to updating my media kit:

  1. Carousel is cool!
Love this opening quote. I'm at this point in my life wherein I can now let go and say, I'm fine without it, but know that I'm not giving up. I just have enough. :)

    1. Sometimes it's just not worth it when you can put that time and energy into something else instead, I think. x
