Cwmbran Miniature Fair

Darla Daley reads my latest acquisition from Dateman Books: Live and Let Die.

Today we spent a fun few hours at Cwmbran's MGM miniature fair. I heard about it via Dateman Books and put it straight in my diary. It was held at Cwmbran Stadium, in the Hallam Suite which must have been near the pool heater because it was sweltering in there. Not that we let that stop us from shopping, of course. ;)

How awesome!? Lazy Days had caravans, canal barges, and lots of gorgeous hand painted miniature canalware.

There were about ten exhibitors altogether, including Lazy Days, Dateman Books, Wye Craft MiniaturesCriss Cross Miniatures, Pan Miniatures, Cats Whiskers, and more. Between us (mum and me) we bought something from just about every stall. I mostly went for craft things that I can use in 1/6 scale - fabric, bows, trimmings - as well as a few other little bits and bobs. Mum bought a room box and lots of accessories for the Malibu Beach House.

I couldn't resist this kokeshi doll for £1.50 - it will be going in Marianna's room, but I figured the doll house kitchen was the perfect place to photograph it first. Her face reminds me of the Homepride Flour men!

Now I just have to get on and find a project to use all these craft accessories on!
