I'd have pink tiles on the lower walls, a band of powder blue, then white on the upper half - except for the bath wall which would get blue with a band of pink:
Wrap around shower curtain rails are the best, especially when they're supporting shower curtains like this one - flamingos with a splash of avocado. It wouldn't be a bathroom without it.
You need a little cabinet to store all the essentials. Check out how awesome this one is:
The best thing about liking retro style now is that you can have the old fashioned look, and the comfort of modern technology. With that in mind it would be heated towel rails all the way. Towels would come in His, Hers, Baby's and Guest varieties:
Then there are those other essentials, like the shower shelves and the loo brush holder. I really like the idea of having one of these little space saving slide-out cupboards too, to store the extra toilet paper rolls, etc.
Finally the kitschy finishing touches:
Alternatively, we could just take a leaf out of Marianna's book and set up a bathtub in the front room...
What would your dream bathroom look like?
I'd have to go with a white suite nothing coloured I'm afraid - I've removed so many avocado suites in my time (3!) so couldn't even contemplate putting another coloured one in! But I'll concede in the right place they can look good, but that's not in my bathroom :) #homeetc
ReplyDeleteAw, no! I can't watch any of those daytime property shows because they're always going in and ripping out all the 'cool' stuff to paint it all white, lol. I think my OH is kind of hoping we're going to rent forever so I can't go and salvage any of them. :)
DeleteI have to say I'm a white-suite only girl too! I did recently see a bathroom with on period pink bathroom suite on RightMove and did look quite cool. I do, however, have fond memories of my Sindy bath! #HomeEtc
ReplyDeleteI was totally born in the wrong era, I just find the modern aesthetic for interiors really bland. My OH would be happy if we could paint everything white like a hospital though. They do say opposites attract! :)
Deleteoh gosh don't get me started on bathrooms! I've wanted new bathrooms in our house since we moved in! Our suite is a horrible sicky green colour and I HATE it! My suite would be pure white, sparkling white. A dark carpet (can't have a bright carpet - I have boys) and plenty of storage. Oooh just thought... under floor heating, power shower... I could go on forever! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, under floor heating would definitely be good! I love the green suites - my heart is stuck in the 70s, a time I never even knew... lol :)
DeleteAaah I blooming LOVE you!!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally love people that have such a clear vision of how they like things — particularly when they don't conform to the norm!!!! :) Just fabulous.
You would have LOVED my mum and dad's old bathroom. They had your dream bathroom suite!!! 'Camay' pink — with matching pink and white 70s tiles! LOL!!! Thanks so much for linking up with us! #HomeEtc
Aw, thank you! :)
DeleteI know it shouldn't, but that just sounds so great!! :D I really like the avacado and orange combo too, but it might be a bit much to actually live with - one of my upcoming doll house projects is a 70s house though so guess what they're getting, hehe.
Well if you're going to do it - do it right!!! Love these choices :) SO cool and very retro. Love how you really go for it :) Thanks for linking up - much appreciated :) Jess xx

Hehe, for sure! :D Sadly it's all just a dream at the moment, but one day...
DeleteI'm afraid I'm with the white suite brigade ;) we have our bathroom exactly how we want it....I just wish it was a bit bigger and that I had boys with better aim *groans* there will never be carpet in a bathroom of mine ha! Thanks for linking up to #PicknMix
ReplyDeleteStevie x
Yeah, I think my *dream* dream bathroom would be one of those huge palatial bathrooms with the works - jacuzzi and everything :)
DeleteWow that is a retro bathroom you want. I'm a fan of the bright, clean, modern look Im afraid. You would love the bathroom we have in our rented house! Thanks for linking to #PickNMix
ReplyDeleteHehe, it really is! The bathroom we have is just white, white, white but it's so boring.
Delete#making home - loving that shower curtain! Very funky. My bathroom is just boring. Black and white but I do have an upcycled cupboard in green to help it.
DeleteIt's so refreshing to see someone who loves something other but I'm afraid I am also a fan of the white. I'm of *that* age when I remember pink, green and all sorts of other duck egg coloured suites. These days, I prefer those colours as accents, rather than the main event ;-) Sue #MakingHome
ReplyDeleteI think it will have to come back into fashion one day... it just might be a very long day away! x
DeleteOh My pink! I'm sure you would find one in salvage, or ask for one on freecycle lol. I have had advocado and champagne but now it's white. I can always add colour with decorations and keep my suite white. #makinghome
ReplyDeleteI'm really hoping I can when (if) we get our own place instead of renting! x
