So I was really intrigued when I was asked to review the Good Night Anti-Snoring Ring. It works by putting light pressure on two acupressure points on your little finger, which is a big improvement on the sprays and suchlike on the market, in terms of both pre-bedtime fuss and how much you notice its presence.

Unlike similar devices on the market, the Good Night Anti-Snoring Ring is the only one which has undergone a clinical trial. The end result was that it was clinically proven to work for 85% of the 40 trial subjects. It can take up to seven nights for it work so a week long trial is advised - I decided I will update this post to keep a nightly record.
Night One
The package arrived and I set about studying the instructions. Women are advised to wear the ring on the little finger of their left hand - although really heavy snorers might need one on both hands - and you need to put it on about 30 minutes before you go to sleep. I put it on at about 11:30pm and this turned out to be incredibly optimistic... insomnia meant I finally drifted off to sleep for a couple of hours at 7:00am. I didn't wake Anthony up, but with the small sample time I wasn't sure if it had worked or not.
Night Two
Lack of sleep the night before, combined with a long day at work, meant I was tucked up in bed asleep by 8:00pm. Anthony actually had to check on me numerous times because he thought I was dead. In his own words, "for once it didn't sound as though a heavy duty freight train was careening through the house." Charming!
Night Three
Another night of snore free sleep. From one of us, at any rate - Marianna picked up the slack for me. :)
Night Four
Still no snoring!
Night Five
Apparently I did snore a little during the night but, in Anthony's words, "nothing like your usual symphony of horror".
Night Six
Ring: 1 - Snoring: 0
Night Seven
Again, no snoring.
There you have it, a week long trial has proven that the ring really works. I was a little dubious, I admit, because it seems so strange that wearing a finger ring can impact on snoring. But it does! I'm so pleased with it - and Anthony is ecstatic.
It's so unobtrusive! But remember to take it off in the morning as wearing it all day will reduce its effectiveness. |

ReplyDeleteMy husband snores extremely loudly, the kids can hear him in their bedrooms. I wear earplugs which muffle the sound somewhat but I can still hear him. We've tried throat sprays, nose strips and various other remedies but to no avail so if this works it would be a godsend.

ReplyDeleteI snore terribly loud! always looking for a good solution
ReplyDeleteyes the other half! no sleep for me
ReplyDeleteApparently, I snore, but I've never heard it!! My hubby snores, so do both my dogs but I find it comforting listening to them. But I'm the worst!! I tried an electric shock wrist band but I found I hardly got any sleep, because it went off if I, or anyone else was snoring. I tried using the nasal strips and it seem to reduce the snoring, but they kept coming of while I was sleep. I am now banished to the spare room, and the dogs seemed to have followed me there, so we can all snore together!! I'd definitely try out the anti snoring ring.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this for my Dad as he snores so loud that it keep my brother awake all night :(
