With a fast growing toddler getting through clothing like nobody's business, I was more than pleased to be asked to review a couple of items from the Sense Organics autumn / winter collection. Read on to find out we got on...
About Sense Organics
Sense Organics is a well established German brand which puts sustainability at the core of their business model. They pride themselves on their products being not only environmentally and socially friendly, with impeccable fair trade credentials, they also go the extra mile to ensure that the materials they use are completely organic, non-toxic, and kind to children's sensitive skin.
In addition to clothing they sell cuddly toys and skincare products, the latter are particularly impressive, with fully organic ingredients and certification from PETA as suitable for vegans. The main event, however, is their clothing range which caters for children from newborn to six years. I mean, just check out these super cute babygros:
Our Sense Organics Experience
At 20 months old Marianna is now the height of an average three year old, so the baby range was completely out of the question! Instead we looked at the girls' selection, and ended up with two adorable pieces in size 2-3 years.
First up was the Girl Sweat Dress striped with Penguin Application (£27.00). I love stripes on kids' clothing, especially navy / white - it makes everything feel a little bit nautical. The contrasting stripes on the skirt made me think of a 1920s drop waist, another favourite thing, and I like that the dress has two pockets for keeping hands warm or stashing all manner of 'treasures'.
The fabric is so soft, and it has a fleecy lining which will make it super cosy in the cold weather. I was really pleased with the generous sizing - plenty of room to grow as my own mum used to say! - and Marianna was thrilled with the penguin applique.
Next in our toddler fashion show came the Girl Tunica Shirt Ice Flower Print, Minea (£19.00). This is such a pretty tunic, and you can tell that the fabric will wash really well - something I never quite understood the importance of before I had children! I love that you can layer it up or down, depending on the temperature, and, just like the other dress, it's nice and simple to get on and off.
