IKEA - Stop Being So English

IKEA Stop Being So English
IKEA 1998 Advert

IKEA first arrived in the UK in 1987, and in 1996 ran an ad campaign encouraging the nation to 'Chuck Out Your Chintz'. This was followed up with a campaign designed by St. Luke's, advising Brits to 'Stop Being So English'.

This spot, which first aired in 1998, had a middle class couple moving away from their mock Edwardian decor and becoming much happier as a result.
