I think I'm finally through with ebay. It's always been terrible for a seller, but at least it provided a platform to earn quick cash. Then, over the last few years, they have slowly eroded everything that was even useful about it - instant paypal payouts to having to wait for bank transfer on delivery, large captive audience to massive competition from similar sites who gained a foothold thanks to ebay's awfulness, constant changes to fees and listing policy, and now you can't even pick how you're going to post the thing.

I had a couple of listings ending today and found out the hard way I can't get a courier to collect my packages because the buyer now pays evri automatically for small value items. So, on top of the extra fee buyers pay for 'ebay protection' which means you have to list stuff cheaper to counter it, now you can't get any money for packing materials or even choose the shipping service.

The main reason I set up the shop/etsy as my part time job rather going for another office role is that I just couldn't. I had a major depression/anxiety episode a few years back and, although I'm much better than I was, it's still a big deal to physically go to the post office right now. So, yeah, I'm majorly pissed off with ebay as I have to go drop off the Evri parcels they made my buyers pay for, despite the fact it would have been cheaper for them if I was sending it Royal Mail tracked 48 with collection...

I've removed most of my listings already, and will do the rest throughout the week.

In other news I was asked on Etsy if I planned to release 1/3 scale versions of my mini printables. To be honest I'd never really thought about it, but it's inspired me to start going through and seeing what I can scale up. (And improving box tabs, etc, for easier gluing!) It's one of those tasks that seems like it won't take too long... until you start!
