Review: Command Strips

I heard about Command strips fairly recently, within the last six months or so. Basically they're adhesive bits of velcro you can use to hang pictures without damaging the wall - great news if you're renting! Command also make hooks, racks, bath organisers, etc, etc. Check out the full range HERE.

I bought the Rasch Parrots Wallpaper from B&M Bargains (£8.99 a roll), while the orange frames and tins came from Tiger. There's also a pretty Russian Khokhloma cup I found on eBay and D.I.Mdoll Gayane.

The strips themselves are really easy to use. You press the two halves together until they click (and they really do click), then peel off the backs and stick one side to the frames. Once they're well and truly stuck in place, peel off the backs of the other sides and stick them (plus frame) to the wall.

Command Strips

I used a pack of large strips (£3.80 on eBay including postage) and I must admit I was a little sceptical. But... they adhered a big 24" by 36" frame with perspex front (£16 from khaksar11 on eBay) to the wall without any problem. For once a product that actually lives up to its hype - I'm impressed! :)

Edit - 11/11/15. I'm linking this up to HomeEtc and can confirm the frame is still up with no problems whatsoever. :)

  1. What a good idea! Must see these out :) Thanks for linking up and sharing with us - much appreciated :) Jess xx

    1. They're so handy, and way more powerful than I expected! :)

  2. My sister has been using these in her rental property and absolutely swear by them! They're not allowed to hammer nails in the wall so the command strips have been a godsend — means she can have all her pictures up without annoying her landlord! :) Thanks for linking up with us #HomeEtc xx

    1. At first I was dubious about the sticking power, but they really are brill. We're renting so we couldn't put nails in, but now I've tried them I think I prefer them as they're safer pictures kids might otherwise be able to get their fingers behind to pull.

  3. I used one of the bigger ones to hang my Christmas wreath on the front door and it was fabulous. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I love to hear from you, so please don't be shy!
