How adorable are these 1/6 scale roller skates by SK Couture?? It was so tough to pick just one design! I also got a pair of glittery rainbow jelly sandals in sixth scale. One day, when I'm rich and famous, I'll have every single colourway they offer. xD The kitchen set is all Glitter Girls stuff I got in the sale on Amazon, thanks to a referral voucher. (Only thing better than new doll stuff is free new doll stuff...)
We spent the week on holiday in Porthcawl. It was so nice just to be by the sea and be able to look out at the waves. Marianna went to the fair and the arcade a few times too, and we all went into town one day, but mostly we just chilled by the beach.
When we got back on Saturday I spent a few hours working through all my accumulated email, etc, but there wasn't much of interest. I did get asked to contribute to a new Star Wars zine on Twitter though which was pretty cool! No idea what I'm going to write yet, but the upper limit is 4k so hopefully I won't stress over it too much. I haven't written a ton of fic lately, just a few short pieces - I'm really hoping to finish the UFO book for Christmas so a) my brain is less full of UFO stuff, and b) I can make a few quid towards my Find My Past subscription.
(I put together a bunch of miniature downloads to fund my Canva subscription and it actually worked! FMP is more expensive though so, yeah, gotta get writing...)
On the blog I posted scans of the 2006 Barbie Annual, a cover guide for Sugar magazine, a guide to Bright Fairy Friends dolls, and a referral code for Kit and Kaboodal.

We watched Strays the other night - Rhys put it on thinking it would be a kids' film suitable for Marianna. It is not. It was pretty funny though. Yesterday Marianna had a sleepover at Ellie's so I watched Pickup (1951). It was everything you want from a B movie.
While we were away I read a bunch of old newsroom memoirs, along with Katy Hessel's 'The Story of Art Without Men'. I've seen a fair bit of criticism of the book for not digging deeper into female scholarship and curation but, if you're coming to the subject entirely clueless as I was, I think it's an excellent primer of the kind of work that is actually out there.
