Letter To My Teenage Self

Letter To My Teenage Self

When I did the 30 Day Blogging Challenge a couple of weeks back I said I'd dedicate a whole post to #23: Write A Letter To Your Teenage Self. Here is that post!

Text Version:

Dear Me,
I am writing to you from the future. Pretty cool, huh? I would try to dispense advice and wisdom but I'm you. I know you wouldn't heed it.
Relax, I'd say. Enjoy the moment. Spend more time acting like a teenager, and less preparing for the future. I can see you shaking your head, resolute in your belief that if your CV just looks impressive enough, the world will be yours for the taking.
I remember! I am you, after all.
I won't tell you how things actually go - we both know how much we worried about that fortune teller who said we'd be a wayward teen, and how determined we were we would never go off the rails.
We won't. I can reassure you on that, at least.
Still, try not to fret so. Things might not work out exactly the way we planned, but we will learn something just as important: - 'Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful.'
Lots of love, you. xxx

  2. LOVE this! love the handwriting - actually felt it was more poignant than reading the typed version - this theme makes me a little nostalgic too sometimes - and a little emotional - no one knows ourselves as well as us - sometimes you just need to give yourself a hug and be super proud of how far you've come #passthesauce

    1. It really made me think about what I was like back then, and all the similarities and differences there would be if I could meet my younger self! x

  4. This is a lovely idea, and a handwritten letter is so much more emotive and meaningful. I think I would be a bit harder on my teenage self, but what good would it do? Teenagers don't listen to advice! #passthesauce

Simply Cook Review

I kept seeing ads and deals for Simply Cook everywhere, so as there was a special offer on at OhMyDosh! Rewards (£3 for the box and £3.50 cashback) I figured I had nothing to lose by giving it a try. What Is It? Recipe kits packed into boxes which fit through your letterbox. The usual price is £9.99 for a kit of 4, with each one serving 2-4 people depending on your serving sizes. All you need to do is buy the fresh ingredients required and follow the instructions. Here is Simply Cook's own helpful diagram: Does It Work? For me, as the person just eating it, it was awesome. Everything tasted great - the mushroom penne in particular was so good I went back for seconds - and I liked that the sauces weren't as rich as Anthony would usually make them. For Anthony, who cooked them, they weren't as impressive. He complained that the food was bland and that it was actually quite a lot of faff, as Lidl didn't stock everything we needed which meant another trip ou
