Work-wise, there were a few interesting things this week. We had a seminar on whistle blowing on Monday, then resources scrutiny committee on Wednesday. On Saturday me, mum, and Marianna went to the Torfaen Labour Women's Forum meeting and did a Dementia Friends training session. (Well, Marianna just banged a teaspoon against the table, but the rest of us did the session!) If you haven't done it yet I really recommend it, it was quite an eye opener for me.
At home, we had a big sort out of Marianna's stuff this week, and Anthony's family came round on Friday to see her. They brought her a little slide, so it was great fun watching her face as she tried it out. On Saturday afternoon we went to Wetherspoons with all my family to watch the match (Wales v. Scotland). Marianna had had enough about half hour in so I took her home - of course Sod's Law dictated that about half hour in is when Wales actually started playing some decent rugby... Still, at least we won, even if I didn't see it!
We're not doing anything for Valentine's today - it's my mum's birthday so we're going round there instead. :)

☆ READING: I'm reading The Italian Boy at the moment, about resurrectionists in London in the 1830s.
☆ WRITING: I wrote a guest post on Parenting Expectations vs Reality for the Family Fever blog. I had two other guest posts go live this week; my birth story at The Oliver's Madhouse and my travel timehop at The Tin Box Traveller.
☆ WATCHING: The Doctor Blake Mysteries. It's an Australian show set in the 1950s. It's not as good as home grown mysteries (I know, fighting talk!) but enjoyable enough all the same.
☆ WEARING: Odd socks. I really need to do some washing!
☆ EATING: Toast.
☆ REVIEWING: BEMO Premium Beard Oil.
This week I did a 'What's in my Handbag?' post for the first time, posted another installment in my Mountfield doll house plan, and was tagged to do the Sisterhood of the World blogging challenge. I also posted a big overview of all my social media profiles. My big achievement of the week though was publishing my 101 Blog Post Ideas, on the scheduled day and everything!

It's so lovely when your guest posts go live isn't it? Sounds like you had a good week. I'm loving the cat pancake! I really like way you've done the roundup at the end. Reviewing beard oil though....I'm guessing that isn't you?! :) Thanks so much for linking up to the first ever #bigpinklink
ReplyDeleteHehe, I got Anthony to do that one! The cat pancake was very tasty, and totally healthy because it had a bit of fruit on it... :D x
DeleteI've given up trying to pair my socks. Who says they're supposed to be matching anyway. Odd is the new black! I'm in awe of how much blogging you get done in a week! Bravo! #happydiaries
ReplyDeleteIt got to the stage where I had to wear Anthony's socks instead - that's when I know it's time to switch the washing machine on! ;)
DeleteWow, you achieved a lot in a week - forget the laundry, lol. I'm going to look into the book you're reading...I haven't heard of that one before. Thanks for sharing #happydiaries
ReplyDeleteIt's by Sarah Wise and is really interesting. Apparently the case was as famous as the Burke and Hare one at the time. x
DeleteResurrectionists AND whistle blowing? Why haven't I been reading more of your blogs?!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a guest post and it's been tricky but kind of refreshing to have critical feedback on my writing!
#HappyDiaries
Hehe, yeah my mind (and blog) is kind of a weird place! :D
DeleteIt's really nice sometimes to write something that you normally wouldn't. x
I'm assuming the beard oil isn't for you!! Love the pancake #happydiaries
ReplyDeleteHehe, I dunno, some days I look in the mirror and seem to be sprouting! ;)
