It was bank holiday on Monday so we joined in the bank holiday tradition of doing absolutely nothing. Anthony's mum and dad came round for a cup of coffee and to see the baby, but that was it! Tuesday was household chores, food shopping, etc. Anyway, I was in Morrisons when I realised I had a couple of missed calls. Turns out I should have been at a school governors' meeting to shortlist for the new deputy head. By this point it was too late for me to get there, and now someone else will have to sit on the appointment panel. I felt such an idiot because I had spent a whole day at the school the week before - I had just convinced myself it was on Thursday. :(
Wednesday, my parents, Marianna and I went to Abergavenny to get the tyres checked on their car. Then, of course, we looked around the shops and had some lunch in Wetherspoons. The weather was really lovely, and we had a great time. I'm glad we didn't do anything on bank holiday and waited until Wednesday instead!
Thursday was election day, and Friday I spent all my free time scanning in old family photos. I picked it up again on Saturday after council advice surgery. I've done about 2,000 and am almost - almost - done now...

☆ READING: Crime Uncovered - I was chatting to a lovely girl on the UK Bloggers FB group who is studying to be a criminal profiler. They've started up a blog covering cold cases. Being the morbid, true crime obsessed person that I am, it's right up my street!
☆ WRITING: Let Kids Be Kids - some thoughts on the differences between the Welsh and English education systems.
☆ WATCHING: Silent Witness. I watched the episode set in Zambia on Friday night. The accents were somewhat suspect, but it was a good watch all the same.
☆ WEARING: Hair. Seriously, I seem to be shedding it everywhere!
☆ EATING: Chocolate brownie and ice cream in Abergavenny. :)
☆ REVIEWING: Karma Cola.
I continued with my series of editorial calendar posts, this week we had February. I also posted my university revision notes on Kind Edward I, and a rundown of the top ten most irritating ebay buyers.
Finally, it's Mother's Day in the USA (and much of the rest of the world today) so the theme for this week's Friday Frivolity link up was Mothers. You can check out my post - and link up - HERE.

I love your quote! It reminds me of when I was about 15 and I had told a friend of mine that I wanted to be a professional actress. He shot me down so fast I didn't know what hit me. I kept my mouth shut after that but years later I ended up having a falling out with him. Turns out he was never really my friend. Awesome quote! #candidcuddles
ReplyDeleteUgh, sounds like a real 'frenemy' - so glad you're free of him now! x

ReplyDeleteIt was so good! :)
DeleteGood fro you having the patience to scan all those pics. I burned all my music CDs to the computer and it took long enough I think it may be several years before I tackle my pictures
ReplyDeleteIt's reached the point where if I ever need to scan another photo, it will be too soon!
DeleteWell done for scanning your photos - we lost a load of ours in a house move :( Beautiful photos in the post as well :) Great quote
ReplyDeleteAw, no, that's awful! There are hardly any older ones of my mum because my nan kept them in a cupboard that ended up having bad water damage. I always think it's so sad when photos get lost or destroyed, to have all those memories just ripped away. x
DeleteOooo brownies... I'm on day 1 of a detox & the thought of brownies is killing me here! lol Love the quote! We can't let others dictate our ambition & dreams! Thanks so much for joining me for #candidcuddles 50!!!
